ELECTRICIAN

the electricians came today and did the necessary re-wiring, moved some outlets and prepped for some other changes that will be made, i.e undercabinet lighting and lighting in the liquor cabinet. They got enough work done that the drywaller can come in tomorrow, instead of on Saturday as was scheduled.

It scares me that something might be getting done ahead of schedule. I know that wont last long, so now we are waiting for the other shoe to fall.

the appliances sitting in the garage Posted by Hello

OK, it has been a while since I posetd and things have been busy. So here is the update. The cabinets were all delivered to the house on the 12th, and they took up about half the sapce in the garage. ON the 17th the contractor came out and unpacked all the cabinets and made sure that everything was there, that it was the correct style and that none of the parts were broken. Everything was there , correct and not broen so they scheduled the work to actually begin on Dec 7th, " a day that will live in infamy"

here is our schedule for re-model that Todd e-mailed me today

Here's the schedule so far:

(all dates are December)

7 - Cabinet Demo (Tool Time)
8 - Electrical (Pacific Electric)
9 - City Electrical Inspeciton
10 - Plumbing (Tool Time)
11 - Drywall (Tool Time)
12-14 Painting (you & me)
15-17 Cabinet Install (Tool Time
20 - Countertop Measure (MR Tile)

Once MR Tile measures/makes a template for the countertop, it will take approximately 10 days - 2 weeks to have that installed with backsplash tile installed right afterwards.

As soon as we have scheduled dates for when the countertop & backsplash are to be installed, we need to let Tool Time know so they can schedule the appliance hook-up and whatever else is left to finish the job.

From the 7th on, we will have no range, dishwasher or kitchen sink and, the refrigerator and microwave will have to be moved out of the kitchen. I see lots of pizza, microwaveable dinners with disposable dishes and eating out for about 4-6 weeks. - if all goes well.

as you can see, fun, fun, fun- I will try to add pics of the cabinets in the garage soon and keep you posted

ok, it has been a while. Thursday the 29th, I went back to Home Expo and exchanged the 3 inch pulls for the 4 inch pulls. On the 31st Lowes delivered the range and Home Depot delivered the fridge, microwave hood and dish washer, they are now sitting in the garage, which is forcing Todd to park on the street for the time being.

We were scheduled to have all the cabintets delivered to the house on the 2nd, until I go trhis e-mail from Todd

"Apparently, I was supposed to call Tool Time back when I originally found out about the delivery date. (I for some reason thought that Home Depot was on that but there's no real reason I should have thought that). Anyway, now, the soonest Tool Time can come out to inspect is 2-1/2 weeks out, on 11/17. Then, assuming everything is in order, it will be another 2-3 weeks, before they will schedule work to begin. "

so after we discussed it, we called the cabinet delivery people and they re-scheduled the cabinet re-delivery for 11/12, and the contractors are coming back on 11/17 to inspect and make sure that all the parts were delivered correctly and not broken, and then assuming that it is all there, they can try and schedule the repairs to start in a few weeks.

But that gives us enough time to finish the cabinets in the garagre to store everything from the kitchen while the kitchen is being renovated
